Ribbons are made from the fibres of "caña flecha" (arrow cane) a palm tree that grows at the edges of the rivers and swamps of the Atlantic coast of Colombia. The natural fibre is transformed into black and white fibres that are braided by a traditional Zenú Indian technique that dates back more than one thousand years.
Using the same technique nowdays artisans produce mainly hats and use the ribbons to decorate several other products.
We offer you beautifully worked wooden trays, cheese tables, bowls, sauceboats, plates, platted with "caña flecha". They could also be platted with coconut and other natural materials, painted and covered with resins; decorated with German silver handlings applications and supports that add a new dimension to products. We also carry "totumo" and "cacho" serving bowls, jars and others. Exotic yet elegant accesories for home and gifts.
